Intensive Care

Intensive care is a more intense form of nursing and treatment that is given to a patient 24 hours a day. There is constant monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen levels as well as regular examinations throughout the day by the veterinarian. Mandeville Animal Hospital provides this service to our clients who require immediate and constant attention by a trained professional. Some of the reasons your pet may need intensive care by our staff are acute illness, trauma and surgery recovery. While your pet is in intensive care they will be supervised by a veterinarian and their pain levels will be controlled by medication to keep them comfortable. Once your pet is able to leave intensive care, our doctors and staff will advise you on nursing your pet at home where they are ultimately most comfortable.
